This tour will take you to Kenya's and Tanzania's top safari destinations, providing a comprehensive overview of these fascinating countries. Each destination offers something unique, whether it's endemic wildlife found nowhere else, dramatic landscapes, or a sheer abundance of animal species. It is the ultimate Kenyan and Tanzanian safari package for those wanting to maximize their wildlife-viewing opportunities.
On the first day of your classic safari, your driver will meet you at the airport or the Nairobi Hotel and provide a brief overview of the entire safari. Then, you'll embark on your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park, which is approximately a 3-4 hour drive. You'll pass through the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and stop for photography and scenic views, which stretches from the Middle East in the north to Mozambique in the south. The area is geologically active, featuring volcanoes, hot springs, and geysers.
You'll arrive in time for check-in and have lunch. You can catch a siesta or freshen up, then head to an afternoon game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. It's home to migratory flamingoes and about 350 other bird species. The park is also a haven for the endangered black and white rhino species.
You will have an early-morning breakfast, followed by a morning game drive at the park before exiting. Later, you'll leave Lake Nakuru for the Masai Mara, a 5-hour drive.
Upon arrival at the Maasai Mara, you'll check in and enjoy a delicious lunch featuring both local and international cuisine. Then, embark on an afternoon game drive in the renowned reserve, famous for the Great Wildebeest Migration. With your expert guide, you'll have the opportunity to spot a diverse range of wildlife, including lions, leopards, giraffes, buffalo, cheetahs, and elephants.
After an exhilarating day, return to Zebra Plains Mara Camp for a hearty dinner and a comfortable overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.
Begin your day with a hearty early morning breakfast, energizing you for an exhilarating full day of game viewing in one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife destinations.
The Masai Mara Game Reserve is home to the Big Five and is renowned as one of the most dynamic wildlife ecosystems on the planet. It boasts the highest concentration of large mammals and a diverse range of ecosystems, from savannahs and woodlands to riverine forests, making it a prime destination for wildlife enthusiasts.
You'll enjoy your picnic lunch along the Mara River or the Masai Mara Savannah. Depending on the season, you might also get the chance to witness the spectacular Great Migration, where millions of wildebeests and zebras traverse the plains in search of fresh grazing pastures, typically occurring from July to October.
Later, return for dinner and spend the night at Zebra Plains Mara Camp, where you can relax and reflect on the day's adventures amid the breathtaking African landscape.
You will enjoy an early-morning breakfast, then check out with lunch boxes. Then, you'll proceed to the Tanzanian border post at Isebania, where you'll meet our Tanzanian driver guide for your transfer to the Serengeti. Please ensure you have a valid visa to enter Tanzania, as applying for one on arrival can be time-consuming.
After clearing the Kenya-Tanzania border with the help of the guide, drive to Serengeti National Park. As you progress well into the Serengeti, you will know why the name means, in the local language, "endless plains." It is home to the Big Five, the Great Migration, hundreds of thousands of zebras, a variety of antelopes, and numerous bird species.
You will check in at the Serengeti Classic View Camp in the evening.
Begin your day with a hearty early morning breakfast, energizing you for an exhilarating full day of game viewing in one of Africa's most celebrated wildlife destinations.
The Serengeti National Park is truly spectacular, known for its vast open grasslands that provide excellent opportunities for wildlife sightings. While it is home to a wide variety of wildlife, it is especially famous for its incredible annual migration. Depending on the time of year you visit, you may witness one of the seven wonders of the natural world, as vast numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope migrate in search of water and fresh grass.
You'll indulge in a delightful picnic lunch and experience a magical overnight stay in exceptional accommodations within the breathtaking Serengeti National Park.
After breakfast, you'll enjoy an en route game drive in Serengeti and later drive to Ngorongoro Conservation and descend into the 100-square-mile Ngorongoro Crater to view the game on the vast grasslands of the crater floor.
The bottom of the crater, dotted with watering holes, shelters almost 30,000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the volcano's slopes. You will find the Big Five: lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world, surrounded by very steep walls that rise 610 meters from the floor. It is considered one of the natural world's wonders and a veritable wildlife haven. Spectacular animal life can be observed year-round, thanks to the year-round availability of grass and water.
You will have a picnic lunch at the Crater rim.
Later, you will ascend and arrive at your lodge in the Karatu area for sunset, dinner, and an overnight stay.
You will enjoy an early-morning breakfast, check out with lunch boxes, and then head to the Namanga border post, where you will meet our driver for your transfer to Amboseli National Park.
You'll enjoy game drives in Amboseli, where you can spot elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, cheetahs, ostriches, and many other animals. Amboseli is renowned for its easy and abundant wildlife viewing. The park is also a photographer's dream, framed by the snowy flanks and summit of Kilimanjaro. The daytime clouds obscuring this tallest peak drift off toward the evening and sometimes early morning, giving lucky viewers a stunning view of the mountain's iconic summit.
Later in the evening, drive to the Kibo Safari Camp for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay.
Enjoy a delicious breakfast, check out, and head out for another game drive in Amboseli National Park till early afternoon. Later in the afternoon, begin the drive to Nairobi for your flight back home. You'll enjoy your picnic lunch in Emali town or enroute to Nairobi.
